What is LIAISON QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus?

LIAISON QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus is an automated, high-throughput test for tuberculosis (TB) infection. It combines the reliable technology of QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus Blood Collection Tubes with a streamlined workflow on Diasorin’s LIAISON XS and XL analyzers. It’s the only FDA-approved, CE-marked and WHO-recommended automated TB test with unique CD8 T-cell technology, providing a more complete picture of the immune response to TB.

How does the LIAISON QuantiFERON test work?

The LIAISON TB test uses a chemiluminescent immunoassay (CLIA) to detect TB infection. Whole blood samples are incubated in QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus Blood Collection Tubes, which stimulate in vitro immune responses to peptide antigens associated with Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. The LIAISON immunoassay then measures interferon-γ (IFN-γ) in the stimulated plasma samples to determine if TB infection is likely.

Can the LIAISON test improve my lab’s TB testing?

The LIAISON QuantiFERON test improves TB testing by automating analysis on the LIAISON XS or XL platforms, reducing manual steps and errors. Choose continuous sample loading or sample batching and test up to 25 patients every hour. Results are fully traceable to the individual tube ID and directly populated to EMR.
