QIAshredder的离心柱中含有独特的生物聚合物剪切体系。将细胞或组织裂解物上样到置于收集管中的QIAshredder并进行离心，从而收集到匀浆的裂解物。一般来说，所得RNA的产量与质量与转子-定子匀浆方法相当（参见"Comparison of RNA yields"）。
